What are the benefits of laser hair removal?
- Built in 3-way skin cooling making it more comfortable than other machines
- Treats the root of the problem rather than offering a temporary solution
- Requires fewer sessions than other machines
- Can treat most skin types
What is the hair removal treatment like?
A clear gel is put on the area in order to allow the handpiece to glide over it. During treatment, a diode laser beam passes through the skin towards the hair follicles. The penetrating energy then heats up the root of the hair, which in turn prevents future hair growth. Diolaze has a built-in skin cooling surface which is one of the largest for all hair removal devices. This makes the treatment more comfortable than other devices, with most patients noting that it’s virtually pain-free. Treatments are fairly quick with most patients in and out before their lunch break is over. Our highly trained nurses perform the Diolaze treatments.
The area treated may feel like a sunburn afterward. Cool compresses and moisturizers may help with any discomfort. The hair usually falls out over the next month following treatment. Sunscreen is recommended to avoid temporary changes in skin color.
How many Diolaze treatments will I need?
As with all laser hair removal methods, Diolaze requires a series of treatments. Lasers can only treat hair follicles that are actively growing and at any given time only 20-30% of your follicles are active which is why repeat treatments are needed. Most patients require 4-6 treatments spaced about 4-6 weeks apart. The number of treatments will depend on the thickness of your hair, hair color, and how much you hope to have removed. Light and blond hair is more resistant due to lack of pigmentation in the hair shaft and may require more treatments.
