The Marine Layer is Gone, but Unwanted Fat Stayed

June Gloom or whatever you call the cool cloudiness of June and July in La Jolla and coastal San Diego is a welcome respite from the 100-degree temperatures found inland. Now we’re past those cloud banks in September and it’s time to hit the beach or the pool. That’s where another sort of chilling can […]

Enough is Enough — Breast Reduction

In the current trend toward more and more women opting to have breast augmentation, it may seem odd for a woman with large natural breasts to want to have them reduced by Dr. Kearney. But the truth is, overly large breasts can be a literal and figurative burden. It’s like running on Mission Beach with […]

What About Your Neck?

In Dr. Kearney’s San Diego practice, we’ll often have patients come in seeking a facelift, blepharoplasty, or a brow lift to turn back the aging on their faces. But what about just below that jawline? Sure, a facelift will usually address your jowls and jawline, but did you see the banding and extensive loose skin […]

At our San Diego practice, we’re always trying to stay at the forefront of the latest technology. Your unwanted hair won’t like that we’ve included laser hair removal with our upgrades. Reveal Better Skin with RevePeel

Everyone knows exfoliation is the key to better skin. If you’re able to slough off the damaged, dying outer layer of skin cells, you’ll reveal healthier, more vibrant skin beneath. Snakes do this all at once, shedding their entire skin. While it could be effective, if humans did that it would be creepy, akin to […]

Could this be the Summer of Hair?

You could read that headline and visualize some sort of Woodstock reunion or a new staging of that prototypical 70s Broadway show, “Hair.” Nope. Dr. Kearney’s more interested in making this summer the summer where you can start regrowing hair in your thinning areas. He wants this to be your “Summer of Hair.” How does […]

Body Contouring with BodyTite

Liposuction is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in the U.S. But Dr. Kearney believes in taking traditional liposuction to the next level by adding radiofrequency energy. This is called radiofrequency-assisted liposuction and Dr. Kearney offers it in two procedures — BodyTite™ and FaceTite™ — at his San Diego practice. These procedures use radiofrequency […]

Tell that Double Chin to Chill Out

As we age and our skin becomes less taut and the muscles beneath lose some of their strength, we develop saggy areas. On the abdomen, you would call this a pooch. Under the jawline, it’s the dreaded double chin. In past blogs, we’ve discussed how Dr. Kearney offers Kybella, an injectable that targets the fat […]

Our office is now open!

Your health (and ours) is our highest priority so we are making a few changes to our reopening so that you can feel safe and confident coming in to see us. We are of course following all federal and local guidelines such as wearing masks and conducting phone screenings prior to your appointment but we are also implementing the following:

Increasing the frequency of cleaning and sterilization to not only include exam rooms but also the waiting room, restroom, all doors, counters, etc.

Offering multiple hand sanitizer locations throughout the office

Reducing the number of appointments per day as well as our office hours, to limit the number of people in the office, including staff members

Minimizing patient overlap to allow for proper social distancing

Testing all surgery patients for COVID-19 at their pre-operative appointments

Asking patients to leave family members or friends at home, unless they are coming with their primary caregiver. Please leave children at home as well

How can you help?

Come alone to your appointment, unless you need your primary caregiver with you

Please wear a mask or face covering to your visit and keep it on unless you are asked by Dr. Kearney or an RN to remove it

Postpone your visit if you have traveled by air or experienced symptoms in the last 14 days

Use a pen from the holder marked “clean” and put it in the one marked “used” when you’re done

Use the hand sanitizers in our office

In the rare case there is someone at the front desk when you come in please take a seat until we call you and maintain proper distance throughout your visit

Take advantage of our virtual consultations or follow up appointments if it makes you feel more comfortable

Please bear with us as we work to return to our new “normal” and feel free to call or email with any questions. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Sincerely,

Dr. Kearney and staff
