Could this be the Summer of Hair?

You could read that headline and visualize some sort of Woodstock reunion or a new staging of that prototypical 70s Broadway show, “Hair.” Nope. Dr. Kearney’s more interested in making this summer the summer where you can start regrowing hair in your thinning areas. He wants this to be your “Summer of Hair.” How does […]

Body Contouring with BodyTite

Liposuction is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in the U.S. But Dr. Kearney believes in taking traditional liposuction to the next level by adding radiofrequency energy. This is called radiofrequency-assisted liposuction and Dr. Kearney offers it in two procedures — BodyTite™ and FaceTite™ — at his San Diego practice. These procedures use radiofrequency […]

Tell that Double Chin to Chill Out

As we age and our skin becomes less taut and the muscles beneath lose some of their strength, we develop saggy areas. On the abdomen, you would call this a pooch. Under the jawline, it’s the dreaded double chin. In past blogs, we’ve discussed how Dr. Kearney offers Kybella, an injectable that targets the fat […]

Get Those Arms Ready for Summer

The skin. It’s the body’s largest organ, so it should get some respect. But it sure is susceptible to the passage of time and the effects of gravity. Your upper arms aren’t immune. As you age, particularly if you’ve gained and lost a good deal of weight, the elasticity in the skin and support tissue […]

Better IPL with Lumecca

You’ve probably heard of Intense Pulse Light (IPL). Similar to laser energy, IPL is different because it delivers a wider bandwidth of light energy than the single bandwidth delivered by lasers. This allows IPL to treat a wider variety of skin issues at one time. But Dr. Kearney doesn’t like to walk in place — […]

Allergan Textured Implants and Cancer

On March 21, 2017, the U.S. FDA made a safety announcement about a link between textured breast implants and a very rare form of cancer: anaplastic large-cell lymphoma. In the announcement, the FDA called the cancer “breast implant-associated anaplastic large-cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL). Since then, the ante has been upped. On May 28 of last year, […]

Have You Heard of Ideal Implants?

At Dr. Kearney’s we have patients who are interested in adding volume and shape to their breasts, but they’re not keen on using silicone implants to do so. Although they’ve heard silicone provides a more natural feeling result and doesn’t come with some of the problems with saline implants (such as rippling), they’re concerned about […]

Two Ways to a Tighter Tummy

Unless you’re 21 or are able to spend half of every single day working out, odds are you’re not thrilled with your lower abdomen. Especially as we age, our stomach muscles and support tissues weaken and allow a pooch to form. And don’t even ask what pregnancy and childbirth do to the muscles down there. […]

Our office is now open!

Your health (and ours) is our highest priority so we are making a few changes to our reopening so that you can feel safe and confident coming in to see us. We are of course following all federal and local guidelines such as wearing masks and conducting phone screenings prior to your appointment but we are also implementing the following:

Increasing the frequency of cleaning and sterilization to not only include exam rooms but also the waiting room, restroom, all doors, counters, etc.

Offering multiple hand sanitizer locations throughout the office

Reducing the number of appointments per day as well as our office hours, to limit the number of people in the office, including staff members

Minimizing patient overlap to allow for proper social distancing

Testing all surgery patients for COVID-19 at their pre-operative appointments

Asking patients to leave family members or friends at home, unless they are coming with their primary caregiver. Please leave children at home as well

How can you help?

Come alone to your appointment, unless you need your primary caregiver with you

Please wear a mask or face covering to your visit and keep it on unless you are asked by Dr. Kearney or an RN to remove it

Postpone your visit if you have traveled by air or experienced symptoms in the last 14 days

Use a pen from the holder marked “clean” and put it in the one marked “used” when you’re done

Use the hand sanitizers in our office

In the rare case there is someone at the front desk when you come in please take a seat until we call you and maintain proper distance throughout your visit

Take advantage of our virtual consultations or follow up appointments if it makes you feel more comfortable

Please bear with us as we work to return to our new “normal” and feel free to call or email with any questions. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Sincerely,

Dr. Kearney and staff
