You’ve heard about hair transplantation but it sounds really painful and it leaves an ugly scar across the back of your scalp that will never grow hair. You’ve heard of the prescription creams and such, but none really seem to do much.
And then there’s the infamous spray-on hair from late-night infomercials. Ugh. It can be disheartening.
Now Dr. Kearney has a better way to get your hair back. It’s called NeoGraft and it takes individual hair follicles from the back of your head and moves them up to the areas where you are thinning. And they start growing new hair.
Here’s how it works.
What is NeoGraft?
NeoGraft uses what is called follicular unit extraction. Individual follicles are harvested from the back of your head where the hair is usually still growing normally. Dr. Kearney removes hair follicles one by one from this area using the NeoGraft device. This penlike device gently rotates around each particular graft in a cylindrical shape. It uses pneumatic pressure to remove the hair follicles smoothly and uniformly. One big plus to the NeoGraft system is that Dr. Kearney never touches the follicles. They are harvested and stay in the canister equipped to lightly mist them with sterile saline solution on a regular basis until it’s time for transplantation. This lack of trauma to the follicles means more of them will successful take when moved.
Next, the areas where you need hair replaced are cleaned and then numbed. Each recipient site is created with a special tool to the exact specifications of the graft. Dr. Kearney then inserts the hair grafts into the created holes to the precisely measured depth.
What are the benefits of NeoGraft?
Dr. Kearney did extensive research before adding this procedure to his practice. Here are some reasons he did:
- There is very little discomfort during the procedure and after.
- Minimally invasive procedure without incisions.
- Patients do not have an ugly horizontal scar on the back of their head.
- This method is compatible with any hairstyle.
- It uses your own hair follicles, simply moving them where you need them.
- Recovery is easy and minimal.
- This is the most natural looking method of hair renewal.
