What Is Lumecca?
After researching various IPL platforms, Dr. Kearney settled on Lumecca™ from Inmode. This IPL platform is the most powerful IPL technology to address pigmented areas and vascular lesions. Lumecca™ is the newest generation of IPL from Inmode, a dominant force in aesthetic lasers and light platforms.
Lumecca™ delivers Intense Pulsed Light. This delivers energy at a much wider band of wavelengths when compared to laser treatments (lasers deliver a single wavelength), and this provides excellent results for a wider range of pigmentation problems.

We use Lumecca™ across the body, but the most popular areas are the face, neck, decolletage, hands, arms, and legs. Because it is IPL, Lumecca™ can be used on all skin types.
What Happens During a Lumecca IPL Treatment?
During your treatment when we deliver the short burst of IPL energy, you’ll have the sensation of a small rubber band being snapped on your skin. Redness and a slight warming sensation are normal after treatment; this usually clears within an hour. Over the next 24 to 48 hours, you may see a darkening of your pigmented spots. Over the next week, these will continue to darken and then will peel off. Treated capillaries may blanch and then disappear in a few days.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
Some patients only have single occasional Lumecca™ sessions. Typically, 1 to 3 sessions is a good start, with maintenance from there.
