If you’ve been losing your hair due to the effects of male (or female) pattern baldness, you know you’re not alone. But that doesn’t make it any easier to see more and more hair in the brush or comb every morning.
But hair loss remedies have been borderline comical. Spray-on hair. Really? Rogaine. Can we grow four new hairs in a year or two? How about strip transplantation? Yeah, that looks natural.
Don’t give up. Dr. Kearney now offers the latest technology in hair restoration, where you actually grow new hair follicle by follicle. It’s called NeoGraft and it is the most advanced method for combating hair loss available today.
What is NeoGraft?
NeoGraft creates natural-looking hair growth using the patient’s own hair follicles. No more trying to coerce the hair follicles to return to the growth cycle. No more artificial pieces of turf moved to your balding areas. NeoGraft moves individual, healthy hair follicles from the back of the scalp to the thinning sections.
Here’s how NeoGraft works
Dr. Kearney identifies the area at the back of your scalp where your hair is still growing normally. This area at the back of the scalp is not usually prone to the effects of male pattern baldness. Dr. Kearney then uses the NeoGraft handpiece to extract complete individual hair follicles, each with 1-4 hairs in it. These follicles are stored in the NeoGraft system until it is time to transplant them. Dr. Kearney has no contact with the follicles, ensuring more follicles will successfully “take” in the transplanted areas.
Once Dr. Kearney has harvested the necessary hair follicles from the donor section, it is time for transplantation. The NeoGraft handpiece first creates the individual transplant sites to receive the follicles. These impressions are made at a consistent depth to improve transplantation success. Then each hair follicle is transplanted into these sites on the top or front of the scalp.
When will I start to grow hair again?
Once your NeoGraft transplantation is complete, the transplanted area will feel tender and there will be some redness. Over the next few weeks, all of the transplanted hair will fall out, but this is no reason to freak out. This is simply the hair follicles responding to the trauma of transplantation. The transplanted follicles then settle in and move to the anagen (growth) phase of the hair cycle and start growing hair. This can take anywhere from a few months to 6-12 months to fully see your hair growth. From there, you’ll be amazed at your new, natural hair.
